Connect Claude or ChatGPT

Your AI can read your longbook and add to it: bills it finds in your email, subscriptions, receipts, anything you point it at.

On a Mac, with Claude

In AI Connections, tap Set Up Claude Desktop. Claude Desktop then reads your longbook folder directly, with no copy on our server.

From any device, with Claude or ChatGPT

  1. In Claude or ChatGPT, add a custom connector with this address: https://longbook.app/mcp
  2. Sign in with your longbook account when asked.

First, in AI Connections, turn on Let AI Read My longbook. This uses longbook Cloud, because your AI reaches a copy of your longbook kept on our server. Turning it off deletes the copy at once. Your purchase includes 12 months of Cloud.

To let your AI add things, also turn on Allow proposals.

What your AI can do

Try asking:

  • "Find subscriptions from my email"
  • "Add my statement"
  • "What do I pay next?"
  • "What is coming in the next 30 days?"

Every change your AI makes waits on the Proposals screen with its name on it. Keep it or undo it with one tap. longbook also keeps your past versions, so you can go back.

If it doesn't connect

  • Check that you're signed in to the same longbook account in the app and in your AI.
  • Remove the connector and add it again.
  • Still stuck? In Support, tap Ask a person to open an email to the team, and tell us which AI you use and the message it shows.
