# Currencies

Every commitment keeps its own currency, and each currency is totalled on its own. longbook never converts one into another.

## Set a currency

The commitment form has a currency beside the amount. INR, USD, EUR and GBP are on the quick selector, and the **Currency** list adds any other, searchable by code or name.

## Totals

- The dashboard totals one currency and lists the others beside it. A menu at the top switches between them.
- **Commitments** and **All charges** can be filtered by currency.
- A monthly report totals one currency and lists every charge in its own.
- Your AI gets totals per currency, never converted.

## Home currency

In **Settings**, under **Display & currency**, **Home currency** sets which currency the dashboard leads with. **Automatic** leads with the one most recurring commitments use. The choice appears once your recurring commitments use more than one currency.

## Questions

### Does longbook convert currencies?

No. longbook holds no exchange rates, so a total never moves with the market.

### Which currencies can I use?

Any currency in current use, by its three-letter code.

### What currency does Siri use?

An amount said in rupees, dollars, pounds, euros, dirhams or yen keeps that currency. Any other amount takes the currency most of your commitments use.
