# Buying longbook for Mac

You download longbook for Mac from longbook.app and buy it inside the app. The licence is the same one you get from the App Store: it covers every longbook app on your account, so it works on your iPhone too.

## Download

On longbook.app, open the Download page and choose **Download for Mac**. It is a notarised disk image for macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon. Drag longbook to your Applications folder and open it.

## Buy inside the app

1. Open longbook for Mac and sign in to your longbook account.
2. Choose **Buy**. Checkout opens in your browser.
3. Pay there. Polar Software Inc. is the merchant of record: it takes the payment and handles the tax.
4. Return to longbook. The licence is on your account.

The licence lands on your longbook account, so signing in on your iPhone shows it there too. After you buy, Apple also emails an invitation to the iPhone beta on TestFlight, to the email you paid with. The beta is free to join and uses the same licence.

## If you paid with a different email

The licence goes to the account with the email you used at checkout. If that isn't the email you sign in to longbook with, open longbook for Mac, choose **I have a licence key** and enter the key from Polar's email.

## Receipts and licence keys

Your receipts and licence keys are in Polar's customer portal at polar.sh/ccs/portal. Sign in there with the email you paid with.

## Refunds

Within 7 days of buying, for any reason, write to Support or contact@longbook.app and we refund you through Polar. The refund ends the licence and the 12 months of Cloud that came with it.

## Updates

longbook for Mac downloaded from longbook.app updates itself from longbook.app. Every update is included in your licence.

## Cloud

A purchase in longbook for Mac includes 12 months of longbook Cloud. Cloud for later months isn't sold there.
